Sarah Elizabeth Creel

Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard Creel and Sarah Toney Creel. Elizabeth married Elijah R. Samford (1822-about 1869)in Scott County, MS in 1844. They were on Scott County, Mississippi state censuses beginning in 1845. All her children were born in Scott County, MS. Elijah Samford died in Scott County, Mississippi. Elizabeth and most of her children arrived in Rains County, Texas around 1871. According to granddaughter, Manon Samford Russell, Elizabeth Creel Samford was tiny in stature and smoked a corn cob pipe (but only after meals).
