Directions to Abarilla's grave:Buried on the Prater family plantation, now located in Sumter National Forest, Laurens County, South Carolina.
"It is west of the town of Whitmire, SC between SC Hwy 72 and SC Hwy 66, on the west side of Duncan Road which runs between the two Hwys. If you are traveling toward Whitmire on Hwy 66, you turn left off Hwy 66 at a sign "Duncan Creek 364" and you will be on Duncan Rd, old name. Where the railroad track and Duncan Creek, both near together, cross this road the line between Laurens & Newberry Counties also crosses. West of this point, up Duncan Creek about a half a mile is the location of Josiah's plantation & Abarilla's grave. All this land is now in the Sumter National Forest. . . .found a part of the marker to Abarilla's grave. . .". . . LA .....NNNAGAN- eparted this life- pril 15, 1814-. . the Ninety fifth -. . of her age."
