Oscar Dumas
(18 Jul 1914 - 18 Jan 1973)
Oscar Dumas. 58, machinist with Diamond Industries in Ruston, died at 9 p.m. at Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport following a short illness.
He was a native of Lincoln Parish and a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. B. H. Peterson officiating, assisted by Dr. R. H. Robe.
Burial will take place in the Mineral Springs Cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of Ruston.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Dumas of Ruston, two sons, Oscar Regan Dumas of Sterlington and Robert Henry Dumas of Sterlington; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis Otwell of Quitman, Mrs. Shirley McGuire of Ruston and Mrs. Nelwyn Smith of Ruston, four brothers, Willie Sharp, Grady Sharp, Arthur Dumas, all of Farmerville and Rev. Odis Dumas of Montgomery, two sisters, Mrs. Allie Hicks of Simsboro and Lucille Reader of Ruston, ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Ed Stephensen, John Lowery, John Allen Lowery, F.L. Smith, Thomas Tinsley and Lester Earl Foster.
