Services for Irene Martin Coker of Dubach will be at 2PM Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach, LA with Rev. Terry Ganey officiating. Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be 5-8PM Friday, May 23, 2014 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Irene (Known by grandchildren and many others as Mamoo) was born on April 3, 1916 in Ruston and passed from this life on May 21, 2014 in Ruston at the age of 98.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. She was totally devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even her great great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of many others during her lifetime through her giving heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jefferson Franklin Adolphus Martin and Martha Brock Martin; husband Lucian Estelle Coker, Jr.; one son, George Frank Coker. She is also predeceased by one grandson, Walter Judd Wright, and one great grandson, Kendall Byington Spivey.
Survivors include four daughters, Essie Burnham of Dubach, LA, Betty Morgan & husband Gene of Biloxi, MS; Bobbie McCaslin & husband Ron of Chickasha, OK; Sandy Batt & husband Owen of Chappell Hill, TX; three sons, Wayne Coker & wife Marilyn of Choudrant, LA; Lu Coker & wife Kathy of Brandon, MS; Mike Coker of Texarkana, AR; special niece Marguerite Otwell & husband Curtis of Quitman, LA; 20 Grandchildren, 30 Great-grandchildren, 15 Great Great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Morgan, Terry Morgan, Darin Coker, Bradley Batt, Brian Coker, Jason Coker. Honorary Pallbearers Buddy Burnham, Doug Morgan, Tracy Morgan and Timmy Morgan.
