Parents:
John Liversedge was born 22 May 1787 at Brodsworth, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of William Liversedge and Nancy\Ann Piper.
He married Susannah Hoyland on 28 Jan 1823 at Rotherham, Yorkshire, England.
Susannah was christened on 31 Dec 1790 in Yorkshire. She was the daughter of William Hoyland.
While living at Brodsworth, John and Susannah had 4 children:
Henry b 29 Jul 1825
Maria b 2 Mar 1827
Ann b 19 Mar 1829
Sarah b 19 Feb 1831.
John Liversedge died at Brodsworth on 23 Oct 1834, leaving Susannah with the four young children.
On 22 Apr 1855 Susannah Liversedge and her 4 children sailed away from England, at Liverpool, on the ship Samuel Curling...part of 581 LDS converts, heading for Utah. After a rough month at sea, the ship arrived at New York City on 22 May 1855. Susannah was then 63 years old; Henry 29 (a wheelwright,) Maria 27, Ann 25, and Sarah 23. From there they proceeded by railway to Pittsburgh and by steamboat up the Mississippi to Atchison, Kansas. From there they crossed the plains to Salt Lake City in the Charles A. Harper Company, arriving on 28 October 1855. Within a year all three of her daughters had married in Salt Lake City.
Maria Liversedge married George Gates on 6 Apr 1856 at Salt Lake City. They had 4 children, all born at Mill Creek, UT:

Maria died 12 Oct 1863 of an inflammation of the lungs, one year after her last child was born.
