Thelma Stevens Petitto, (nee: Jennings) - died peacefully at home Dec. 20, 2007 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. Thelma was born July 22, 1927 in Highland Park, MI.
Thelma was the beloved wife of 60 years to Sam Petitto, and loving mother of John (Pat) Petitto, Mary (Bill) Hopkins and Jeannie (Rick) Hauser. She is also the cherished grandmother of Sandy, Matt, Hadley, Erik, Julia, Owen, Ruby and June, and the dear sister of Iris Bingham. Thelma is also Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Petitto was preceded in death by her parents Garfield Jennings and Lily (Frank) Skinner, and her sister Sylvia Mcfarland.
Thelma was a dedicated volunteer to numerous charities including Children's Leukemia Foundation of MI, the Kidney Foundation, Macomb County Meals on Wheels and Easter Seals. In her free time she loved playing Bingo and traveling with family.
Visitation for Mrs. Petitto will be Friday from 5-9 pm, and Saturday 1-5pm with the Funeral Service beginning at 5pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ mile).
