Doyle was the son of John Ed and Oleta Pearl (Roark) Sloan. He married Nancy Jane Harris Novembe 26, 1965 in Gainsville, Texas. He was self employed in high line construction.
At time of death he was survived by his wife, Nancy of Newcastle; two sons, Jeffrey Doyle Sloan of Nocona and Terry Rhea Sloan of Florence, Arizona; two sisters, Veoma Moses of Elbert and Nadine Sloan of Graham.
A brother, J.A. (Tex) Sloan, preceded him in death.
