Richard Lee Shires, age 70, died Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was born August 20, 1939 at Valliant, OK to Albert James and Hazel Mae (Henderson) Shires and grew up in Chickasha and Wynnewood. He lived most of his adult life in OKC. In early life he worked with his father in the broom making business and later was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Barbara. Survivors include one son James Lee Shires of Wheat Ridge, CO and one sister Betty Short of Tulsa. Also by a host of extended family and friends. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are being handled by McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
