ARNER, EVELYN F. SCOTT Age 84, of Hueytown, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2011. She was the youngest of four children, born on July 12, 1927 to Orba and Darthy Scott. Evelyn was a very loving, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She enjoyed life, loved to laugh, sing in the choir and give of herself to others. She had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. She was a powerful prayer warrior and believed in the power of prayer. She was retired from Shirley's Hair Care in Hueytown, AL. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Max R. Garner; her parents; and her sisters, Sylvia Ballard and Helen Hardin. She is survived by her brother, Vernie Scott of Easley, South Carolina; daughters, Dorothy Alessi (Joe), Sandra Nix, and Carla Bush (Walter). Also left behind are her grandchildren, Lois Anne Alessi of Alvin, Texas, Jody Alessi of Birmingham, AL, Chris Alessi (Tammy) of Homewood, AL, Jessica Hall of Hueytown, AL, Randy Bush of Providence, RI, Wayne Nix (Joanna) of Hoover, AL, and Allen Hall of Bessemer, AL, along with 14 great grandchildren & 10 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Comfort Care Home Health Services for their exceptional and compassionate care, especially Amanda and Toni. Funeral services will be held Sat., August 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Peoples Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Bro. Gary Tankersley and Bro. Allen Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, AL. Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Jody Alessi, Chris Alessi, Randy Bush, Wayne Nix and Allen Hall.
