(20 May 1945 - 12 Jun 2006)

Karen D. Wright, age 61, Mauston, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Monday, June 12, 2006, at her home, surrounded by many friends. She was born on May 20, 1945, to Lawrence and Lucille (Dwyer) Fiene in Mauston.
She married William Wright on Oct. 26, 1963, and they had three daughters. Karen and Bill owned and operated Wright's Grocery Store, Mauston, for several years. After selling the grocery store, Karen worked as a legal secretary at Vieth and Feldman.
In 1981, she began working for the Juneau County Courthouse in the Clerk of Courts office, and for the past 19 years she was the Juneau County Judge's Judicial Assistant. She took great pride in working for and with the late Judge Wallace Brady, the late Judge John Brady and most recently, Judge Jack Roemer, and all of the people she came in contact while performing her job.
Karen was a lifelong resident of Mauston. While her family was young, they enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, bowling and horse shows. More recently, she continued to enjoy her horses, as well as flower gardening, traveling, being the No. 1 fan of professional bull riding, country music and her Red Hat group. These interests made her happy but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
