WINFIELD Shirley Champion, age 75, of Winfield, died March 18, 2013, at home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fayette Memorial Gardens with Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette directing. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus Otis Gray and Clemmie Upton Gray; her daughter, Sharon Diane Woolsey; her sisters, Dorothy Solomon, Francis Kimbrell, Betty Jean Bryant, and Carolyn Sue Robertson; and her brother, William L. Gray.
Survivors include her husband, Dexter Champion; her sisters, Linda Aldridge and Glenda Dozier; her brother, Bobby Gray Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ariel Anguiano, Dr. Charles Nolen, Dr. William A. Hill, Dr. Jonathan Smith, and staff of Fayette Medical Center and Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
