NORTHPORT –Jimmie D. Leonard Dutton, age 79, died November 20, 2016. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis Avery officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 one hour prior to the service at the funeral home with Tuscaloosa Memorial Park & Chapel directing.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Carl Leonard; mother, Evelyn Gilbert Chesnutt; sister, Geri Champion; brother, Sam Leonard; and grandsons, Joshua Basham and Jared Dutton.
Survivors include her husband, Howard E. Dutton of Northport, Ala.; daughters, Darlene Dutton of Forrestville, MD, Ginger Dutton of Northport, Ala.; son, Jeff Dutton (Joyce) of Northport, Ala.; sisters, Kandi Chesnutt Nolen of Coaling, Ala., Suzanne Leonard of Anniston, Ala.; brother, Dan Leonard (AR); five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Jimmie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and she was very devoted to all of her family. She loved serving the Lord. She had a kind and giving spirit and she always showed her love of God to others and wanted others to come to know Him. She lived a life full of love and gave love fully to everyone she met.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dutton, Josiah Dutton, Steve Miller, Nathan Champion, Jon McGee, Lat Leonard.
Flowers may be sent to Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jean Browning Home for Teens, 14580 Thompson Avery Road. Fosters, AL 35463.
