Mr. Wiley Lee Ennis, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the age of 87.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 12, 2015, at 12:00 noon from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Travis Bittle officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Ennis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Butler Ennis; children, Phyllis E. Mitchell (Johnny), Cindy E. Sams (Doug), Wayne Butler (Gale), Peggy Taylor, Mickey Butler, Sr. (Cheryl) and Linda Reed; grandchildren, Brian Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Sarah Sams, Matt Sams, Emily Keown, Katie Williams, Pam Breedlove, Phyllis Hammock, Paula Coker, Michael Wayne Taylor, Mickey Butler, Jr., Johnny Thornton, Amy Dorminey, Jimmy Thornton, Deana Gray and Doug Butler; 28 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Smith Ennis; parents, Spurgeon and Willie Lou Ennis; brother, Rudolph Ennis; sister, Voncille E. Damato and granddaughter, Frances Ledbetter.
Mr. Ennis was an excellent (best in his day) basketball player for Reeltown High School. After his service in the United States Navy, he became well known in Tallassee and the surrounding area as a Master Plumber - for over sixty years. Mr. Ennis was also known for his superb talent (magical feet) in dancing.
The family will received friends Friday, June 12, 2015, from June 12, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
