Lillian Hudson Howard, last surviving member of the Julius C. and Lillie Coley Hudson family was called home to be with her Lord on June 27, 1999. She was 93 years old.
Mrs. Howard was a native of the Greer area and a member of El-Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Howard, and daughter and son-in-law, Camilla and Dr. Sydney Garrett. She was predeceased by her husband,
Lawrence H. Howard; and son, Julius Howard.
Mrs. Howard is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Hugh and Mary Beth Garrett, children, Jake and Lauren; Gail and Tim Sulak, and daughter, Sarah; Joye and Dr. Rick Finch; Jill and Mark Berset, and daughters, Emily, Andrea, and Lindsey; Dean and Jackie Garrett, and sons, Justin, Greyson, and Harrison; and Jane and Matt Hoffman. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Alton Howard, who was reared in the home and his wife, Dorothy, their daughters, Brenda Bloomfield and Teresa Harvey; a niece, Margie Cudd; two nephews, William Hudson and William Johnson; and a special member of the family, Dr. James Carnes.
Visitation will be held at The Wood Mortuary from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted
by the Rev. Greg Sweet and the Rev. Bobby Johnson. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
