LEE, CLARENCE ALEXANDER (TONY), JR., 82, of Jasper, died Saturday, July 7, 2007. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oakhill Cemetery. Rev. Charles W. Powell and Rev. Dale Capron will officiate. There will be no visitation.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Mathews Lee of Jasper; two daughters, Jeannie Lee and Claire Lee, both of Jasper; one son, C.A. (Tony) Lee, III of Birmingham; one grandson, Dylan Lee Edgil of Jasper; two granddaughters, Alex Alexandria Edgil and Anna Alexandria Redmill of Jasper; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Lilli Thornton, both of Jasper.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. A graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Civil Engineering, Lee was a prominent businessman in Jasper beginning with the family owned Marigold Coal Company and later owner of Walker Industrial Supply Company (WISCO). He also served on the Board of Trustees for Walker College as well as First Federal Savings & Loan for many years. He was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Jasper.
His final months were made as comfortable as possible through the loving care of Emory and Jenna Sheffield, the staff of Ridgeview Health Services and Wiregrass Hospice.
