Funeral services for Mrs. Earline Louise Gay Lockhart Sanford, age 88 of Calhoun, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Beulah United Methodist Church in Calhoun. Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Walters and Rev. Danny Baskin. Burial will follow in Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Sanford was born June 13, 1927 in Sikes, LA to Truman Earl Lockhart and Doffie Birdie Hearn Lockhart. She died November 14, 2015 in Dubach, LA after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Sanford was a devoted Momma, MamMommy and Wife. Her life was dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. She spent her life with love and in service to others; teaching, coaching and supporting her family and her extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Sanford volunteered her time with her community and schools, church and various organizations. She was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church in Calhoun.
Mrs. Sanford will be greatly missed by her brother: James Lockhart and his wife Margie of Venore, TN, her children: Arlis Sandy Sanford, Jr. and wife Donna Drane; James RonaldRonnie Sanford and wife Nona Howard; Deborah Debbie Sanford and husband Joe B. Cooper, all of Calhoun, LA; Darla Sanford and husband Nicky McCullin of Dubach, LA; Dana Sanford Livingston and Darinda Ann Sanford of Calhoun, LA; her grandchildren: Leslie Sanford and husband Brad Terrell, Arlis Sanford III, Luke Sanford, Ryan Sanford and wife Crystal, Jerid Sanford and wife Nicole, Jessica and husband Michael Schwartz, Josh Cooper, Gavin Davidson and wife Cynthia, Deanna Sanford, Marc Sanford, Crystal Sanford, Zachary Collinsworth, Felicia and husband Joey Trichell, all of Calhoun, LA, and Tracy Peterson of Memphis, TN; great-grandchildren: Peyton and husband Wayne Roberts, Hallie Terrell, Slade Sanford, Payson Sanford, Cooper Arthur, Coen Arthur, Camden Schwartz, Jada Cooper, Kendall Cooper, Carsen Davidson, Alex Davidson, Wesley Sanford, Adalie Sanford, Zane Abbott, Anna Grace Turner, Chelsea and her husband Josh Williams, Jordan Conrad, Maisey Peterson, and Anna Claire Trichell; great great-grandchildren: Leyton Roberts, Brody Vincent, and Ellie Williams.
Mrs. Sanford is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Arlis Buck Sanford; sister: Faye McDowell; and granddaughter April Sanford.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Arlis Sanford III, Ryan Sanford, Gavin Davidson, Josh Cooper, Luke Sanford, Jerid Sanford, Marc Sanford and Zachary Collinsworth.
Visitation will be held at Beulah United Methodist Church in Calhoun from 5:00 8:00 PM, Saturday November 21, 2015.
