Shawnee resident Charlsie Lee Ueltzen-Smith, 71, passed from this life on Monday, June 15, 2009, in Oklahoma City.
She was born on May 11, 1938, in Mountainburg, Ark. to Ray and Ruth (Creekmore) Smith. She married Billy Glenn Ueltzen on May 28, 1955 in Prague. He preceded her in death in August 1971.
Charlsie worked for American National Bank for 30 years where she was a vice-president. Her father also preceded her in death. Although Charlsie battled breast cancer for 26 years, she had an amazing and positive attitude.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Ken Kerbo of Shawnee, Robin and Garry Young of Shawnee; mother, Ruth Smith of Shawnee; grandchildren, Ryan Linkous, Tara Henson and her husband Mike Lindsey Barnell and her husband Brad, Kyle Ueltzen and his wife Valerie; six great-grandchildren; sister Pattie Rae Smith of Shawnee, Niece and nephew Justin Burch, Angela and Jason Smith; two great-nieces; best friend, Doyle Roller of Tecumseh.
Charlsie's family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo and the Rev. Ken Kerbo officiating. The casket will not be open following the service. Burial will follow at the Paden Cemetery in Paden under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
