Passed away peacefully on December 11, 2012, at age 86, at the home of her daughter Beth, with the loving assistance of hospice. Betty was born and raised in St. Joseph, MO, where she met her future husband Robert Fulton, who was an Air Force officer, home on leave. They lived in Lincoln, NE, for two years while Bob completed his college degree, and then they moved to Prairie Village, KS, where they raised their 3 children and remained for their entire married life. Betty and Bob joined the Village Presbyterian Church at its beginning with Dr. Bob Meneilly, and Betty remained an active member for over 50 years. As our mother, she also was involved in PTA, Cub Scouts, Brownies and Little League, as well as a long standing member of a women's Bridge group and Garden club. Betty was a devoted volunteer at Children's Mercy Hospital for over 30 years, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2000. She presided over the Patient Information Desk on Mondays and in the Ronald McDonald Family Room on Fridays, giving over 8,000 hours of service. In addition, Betty delivered Meals on Wheels and performed other acts of kindness, too numerous to mention. Mom loved her family, her friends, her church, her community and especially her Cocker Spaniels. She is survived by her children Beth Fulton (Terry) of Sebastopol, CA, Jan Fulton-Ganguzza (Bob) of Aiken, SC, and Rob Fulton (Kyleen) of Huntington Beach, CA, as well as 3 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. A memorial Service will be held on January 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Village Presbyterian Church Chapel at 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village. Betty will be interred at a private family service in the Village Church Memorial Garden, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bob. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, Resource Dev./Ronald McDonald House Charities, 2400 Pershing Rd., Kansas City, MO 64108 or to the Village Presbyterian Church.
