Neoma B. Bartley, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska. Neoma was born May 27, 1916 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Lee A, & Verna Roxie (Wright) Barcus.
Neoma graduated from Red Cloud (NE.) High School in 1935 and married Ronald "Buck" Bartley on November 27, 1942 at Smith Center, Kansas; he preceded her in death on September 22, 1992. They lived in Red Cloud, Nebraska until moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1962. Neoma worked for J.C. Penny Company for 30 years and was a member of the Methodist Church, Red Cloud, Nebraska and the Rebekah Lodge in Red Cloud and Hastings, Nebraska. After moving to Good Samaritan Village in 1985, Neoma worked tirelessly as a volunteer organizing the Silver Belles to assist with dinners and worked over 1,000 volunteer hours a year at the GSV Bargain Center until 2007. She loved to sing in the choir, visit her friends and was always ready to dance.
Neoma was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Ronald "Buck" Bartley; step-mothers, Marie (Traut) Barcus and Gertrude (Goll) Barcus and son-in-law, Mike Keeler.
