Funeral service for Mr. Charles “Rooster” Milner, 88, of Goldville, was held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. David Rozelle will officiate. Burial followed in the Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery with Veteran’s Honors presented by the Alexander City Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family received friends on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Milner passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born on March 26, 1926 in Chambers County, Alabama to William Landon Milner and Vonn Foreman Milner.
Mr. Milner loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his sons. He worked for the Alexander City Street Department for over 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Milner was a big gardener and enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting. He would always wave at travelers on Hwy 49N from his front porch.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Johnson Milner of Goldville; sons, Wayne Milner (Carolyn) and Terry Milner (Leanne), both of Alexander City, and Andy Milner (Gina), of Goldville; grandchildren, Emily Milner, Haley Milner, Kim Keel, Bill Griffin, Katie Milner, Anna Milner, and Evan Milner; great-grandchildren, Cheaney Margaret Keel, Griffin Keel, Trey Griffin, and Lauren Griffin; and brother, Buddy Milner (Myra), of New Site, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Charlene Griffin; sisters, Elizabeth McCain, Pauline Boone, Edelene Jones, and Annie Jane Milner; brother, John Jay Milner; and son-in-law, Howard Griffin.
