Hazel Elizabeth Pease

Hazel Elizabeth (Pease/Finley) was born in Eagle CO on Feb 26 1908. She married Ernest Simon Fritz on Feb 22 1923. They farmed West of Fort Collins next to where Rocky Mountain High School now stands.
Ernest and Hazel had 6 children on the farm and were close to Ernest's parents and siblings. They lived near another young farmer who showed interest in their daughter. Patricia Fritz married William Montgomery and raised her two children at their farm as well.
Hazel's eldest daughter was diagnosed with diabetes as a child. Hazel and Ernest struggled with the disease Buelah May had but the young girl died at 14 years.
Ernest and Hazel retired and moved to Oregon. Several of their children went with them. They made a home and enjoyed their (19) grandchildren, fishing, the beach, and Ernest painting. They traveled back to Colorado to visit family each year while they were able. Photos show them at their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hazel died of a bowl problem Sept. 11 1984 in Medford Oregon. She is buried in Pistol River near Ernest who followed her in 1992 (of cancer).

Hazel E Fritz
A graveside servied was held yesterday (Sept. 11) for Hazel Elizabeth Fritz, 78, who died on Friday Sept. 7 in Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital in Medford.
Pastor Gordon Myrah of Trinity Lutheran Church of Brookings officiated during the service at Pistol River Cemetery.
Mrs. Fritz was born Feb. 25, 1906, in Colorado. On Feb. 22, 1922, she married Ernest Fritz, who survives. They moved from Colorado to the Brookings area in 1956.
She was a member of the Pistol River Friendship Club.
Survivors besides her husband, of Brookings, include a son, Herbert Fritz of Brookings: three daughters: Patricia Montgomery of Fort Collins CO: Barbara Bean of Grosham, Ore.: and Dora Grewe of Petaluma Calif.: 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Arangements were handled by Lilly Funeral Directors, Inc. of Brookings.
