Carl Gunard "Gunne" Edlund

Mr. Carl 'Gunne' Edlund, age 94, passed away Saturday morning at a local care home following a brief illness. Mr. Edlund, the 2nd of 10 children, was born on July 13, 1910, in Chicago, IL to Charles and Charlotte Johnson Edlund and moved with his family to Muskegon in 1912.
Carl was a graduate of Muskegon High School and in 1933, moved to N.Y., where he worked for Decca Records; there he met the former Rosemary Locher and were married on June 29, 1938. Rosemary preceded him in death on October 9, 2001.
Mr. Edlund was a life-long member of Samuel Lutheran Church, a life member of the Muskegon Hts. Eagles and a past member of the Muskegon Moose Lodge.
He served his country during W.W.II with the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops in Italy and was a member of V.F.W. Post 3195.
He was a supervisor at Shaw-Walker, Inc., retiring in 1972. Survivors omitted for privacy reasons. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ralph 'Whittey' Edlund and Fritz Edlund, Sr.; and 3 sisters, Olga Broadbent, Karen Taulbee and Wilma Zuidema.
