Funeral services for Kenneth Pratt Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Hilliard Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with the Rosary service to begin at 7:00 p.m. A private family graveside will be held at Colfax Cemetery.
Mr. Pratt passed away at the age of 85 on June 26, 2012 at his home in Colfax.
Kenneth Clyde Pratt Sr. was born June 7, 1927 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to the late Evie Elvira Everett Pratt and Clyde Ing Pratt. He had been a resident of Colfax for 25 years, formerly living in Grand Prairie. He retired from General Motors in Arlington, after 30 years of service. Ken and Lillian Wavrusa married on September 24, 1966. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines during WWII and the Korean War. He belonged to the United Auto Workers, volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul, and was very involved in Ken White's Water Ski School and Ennis Ski Club for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Venita Lou Pratt; brother, James Alton Pratt; and son, Dennis Lee Pratt Sr.
Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lillian Pratt of Colfax; children, David Pratt of Arlington, Nancy Meine of Fort Worth, Doug Pratt and wife, Sarah of Murchison, K.C. Pratt Jr. and wife, Whitney of Corsicana; daughter-in-law, Patty Pratt of Grand Prairie; sister, Fay Marks and husband, Joe of Universal City; eight grandchildren, Jason Holder, C'ne Pratt, Randy Pratt, Matthew Henry, Kevin Meine, Christina Brasher, Sarah Pratt, and Dennis Pratt Jr. and eight great-grand-children.
