IDA MAE DEAVER PIERCE, 80, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in The Church of Christ at The Colonies Chapel with Dick Marcear officiating. A private family burial was Dec. 21 in Llano Cemetery with Wayne Campbell officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mrs. Pierce was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Kim, Colo., to Richard Franklin and Nora Vela Groves. She graduated from Stinnett High School in 1941 and went on to attend Draughon's Business College.
She married Bernard J. Deaver on Aug. 8, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1966.
She worked as a secretary for Lewis Dodson Engineering for more than 25 years until her retirement in 1974.
In 1976 she moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she married Glen A. Pierce on March 17, 1976.
Mrs. Pierce returned to Amarillo in 2002 to be close to her children. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the EF and JKL Units at Bivins Memorial Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband, Glen A. Pierce of Tulsa; a daughter, Diane Freeman and husband Tony of Amarillo; a son, Denny Deaver and wife Sandy of Amarillo; a sister, Rubye Jean Parker of Fritch; four grand-children, Jayson,
Mandy, Melynn and Clayton; and five great-grandchildren.
