Shawn Roberta (Phillips) Applegate was born in Dallas County, Tx. She peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus on Saturday October 30, 2021, at the age of 62.
She was a long-time resident of the Tyler/Longview area and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. Her career with Brookshires spanned over 31 years and afforded her many valuable and long-lasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by her father David Phillips; mother Peggie Phillips and brother David Sherrod Phillips. Survivors include her daughter Amanda Richardson, her husband Daniel Richardson and their children Grace and Nate of Tyler; son David Applegate and his wife Jennifer of Longview and their two daughters Olivia and Caroline.
She was a friend to many and her love for life was about her family, friends and love of all things crafting. Her determination and zest for living fueled her survival for over a decade as she courageously battled cancer.
What she wanted in her passing was not a funeral, but a gathering of those who loved her most over a shared meal. Arrangements for this will be made soon for those who would like to join in celebrating her life.
