Cotton Lankford, 77 of Chillicothe, Texas died on Friday, September 13, 2019, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Service will be Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Nichols officiating. Interment will be held at Chillicothe Cemetery under the direction of Smith Chapel, Chillicothe, TX.
Cotton was born Thursday, December 11, 1941 in Quanah, Texas; he was the son of the late Thomas David Lankford and the late Minnie Ruth Hannon Lankford. He married Marilyn Ford on December 23, 1962 in Chillicothe. He owned and operated Cotton’s Fina in Chillicothe serving farmer and ranchers, and he was a farmer. He retired from Texas Dept. of Corrections in Childress. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and the OFG of Red River. He was a member of First Baptist Church and he was a Deacon.
Cotton is survived by his wife Marilyn Lankford of the home. Three daughters, Holly Powell and husband Jim of Sherman, TX., Duron Cranford and husband Wayne of Electra, TX and Brandi Whiteside and husband Kevin of Vernon, TX; 3 grandchildren; Chance, Chad and Kadyn, and 3 great grandchildren, Leighton, Lennon, and Harper.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Smith Chapel, Chillicothe.
Memorials can be made to Chillicothe High School Athletics Program.
