William P. Buckelew, 93, of Huntsville passed away Monday. Bill graduated from the University of Alabama and was a civil engineer who enjoyed a long career with the Bureau of Reclamation, TVA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and NASA. He loved his family, his friends, golf, Alabama football and really enjoyed a good cigar.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Perrin Buckelew. Survivors include his wife, Robin Buckelew; sons, John Carter Buckelew and Leon Alexander Buckelew, both of Huntsville; daughter, Christina Fay Buckelew of Nashville, TN; son-in-law, Chad LEplattenier of Nashville; grandchildren, Rachael Critelli of Huntsville, Kimberly Joyce Buckelew of Denver, CO, William Conley Buckelew, currently deployed with the U.S. Navy, and Maegan Ella Buckelew of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church followed by the service at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mac Buttram officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
