Michael Joseph “Mike” Malone passed away peacefully at his home in Garland, TX, surrounded by his loved ones on January 29, 2017. He was 80. Michael was born October 20, 1936, in St. Paul, MN, to George and Mary (Hills) Malone. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mike was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he was 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed taking things apart and fixing them again, so his family never had to pay for home repairs. He loved his family and friends and was dearly loved by them.
Michael is survived by his wife: Alice Malone; sons: David Shico, Kevin Malone and wife Karie, Patrick Malone and wife Jennifer; daughters: Donna Malone and Kathryn Burnett; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00am Friday, February 3, 2017, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland with Rev. Joseph Mehan officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7pm.
