Mary Margaret Geandreau

(25 Jan 1833 - 28 Jan 1906)

Mary Margaret lived with her grandmother Marie Louisa until the age of 7 after her parents Jean Geandreau, Jr. and Margaret Lioni died.
She then became a ward of her godparents, Mr. & Mrs. Rowland Boullemet.
Mary Margaret graduated from the 1st Class at the Visitation Convent Academy in 1849. A medal of Honor iven to her when she graduated 8/29/1849 has the inscription, "Unequal to merit" on one side and "Impar merito" on the other.

When her grandmother died at age 83, Mary Margaret became a memeber of the family of Rowland (or Rowland) Boullemet, who also was her legal guardian.

When she married, some rift seems apparent with her godparent, because she was married outside the Catholic Church. Records indicate most of her children born in Mobile were baptized @ St. John's Episcopal Church. And Monroe Journal Supplemental Edition, Thursday May 1, 1969.

Marker says "Age 73 or 76 or 78, but subtracting dates gives you age 73
