Rachel Stepp, 28, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away suddenly on April 19, 2021. Her family is shocked and deeply saddened by her loss.
Rachel was born on December 21, 1992, to Dave and Annette Stepp in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Rachel graduated from Newbury Park High School in 2011 and during her time there, she pioneered the girl’s lacrosse program within the Marmonte League, and at NPHS, leaving a lasting legacy within athletics.
Rachel attended the University of California, Santa Barbara with a focus in film and media studies. During her time at UCSB, she excelled in the classroom, graduating in just three years with a rigorous course-load, in 2014. Additionally she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority during her time in Isla Vista.
Professionally, Rachel made an impact in the film and television industry, working with young actors and actresses. Most recently, however, she blossomed at Penny Mac as a contract specialist, where she was a member of the company’s mentor program over the course of the past year. Rachel poured herself into her work, and was on a terrific path within her career prior to her untimely passing.
Anyone who knew Rachel, knew that she adored her cat, Luna. They also knew that Rachel was so incredibly smart, kind and was someone who put everything into her relationships. Her family and friends will miss her more than words could ever say. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
