Dovie Gertrude Bruner Walker, 87, of Tifton, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Jeff Davis Hospital, Hazelhurst.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Albritton Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Chad Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenox cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, February 26, 2016, at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Mike Roberson, Conner Bristow, Zachary Kimbrell, Terry Upton, Tony Bruner, Todd Barker, Skyler Bristow, and Roy Beasley will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Walker was born April 21, 1928, in Walker County (Jasper), Ala., to Amon Lee Bruner and Illa Bowen Bruner, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Walker; two sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Walker had been a sitter with Heart and Hands, loved rose gardening, cooking, quilting, and sewing. She was of the Assembly of God faith.
Surviving Mrs. Walker are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Johnny and Kay Walker, of Deatsville, Ala., and Lee and Ellen Kimbrell of McCrae, nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Bruner of Alapaha.
