Helon R. Bagwell Mathews Woods, age 97, of Tuscaloosa, died January 7, 2014, at Heritage Health Care. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at Duncanville Community Cemetery with Rev. Dawson Morrison officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Wiley and Alma Bagwell; husbands, Hobson Mathews and Roy Woods; brothers, Marion Davis; James Arthur; sisters, Ruby Patton and Mary Higgins; and sons, Andy and Melvin Mathews.
Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Jorene Mathews and Barbara Mathews; sisters, Frances Patterson (Robert) and Sara Capachionne; brother, Robert Bagwell (Freida); grandchildren, David Mathews (Rhonda), Daniel Mathews (Nicole), Victoria Mathews, Lisa Roffers, and Jeff Mathews; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Natalie Roffers.
