Hershel O. Walker, Jr. was born to H.O. Walker, Sr. and wife, Elizabeth Walker. As a child, his family moved to Kerrville, TX, where he graduated from Tivy High School in 1950. Mr. Walker was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as an MP in Munich, Germany from 1950-1953. Over the course of his life, Hershel lived in Andrews, Brownfield, Laneville, and College Station, TX. He worked as a carpenter building homes, and as a laborer, electrician, and foreman at a sodium sulphate plant at Cedar Lake near Loop, TX. Hershel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brownfield, and most recently the First Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise, TX.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, H.O. Walker Sr. and Elizabeth Walker, and his wife, Betty Ann Walker.
