Israel Aiken

Israel Aiken was the son of John and Jerusha (Atwood) Aikens. He married Susanna Smith of Hardwick, Worcester County, Massachusetts September 23, 1784 in Hardwick.
Israel Aiken served during the American Revolution. "He was Capt. in Page's Co., Col. Converse's Regt. having mustered in May 19, 1778; enlistment, 9 months; enlisted from Col. Denny's regt.; also, Capt. Timothy Paige's co., Col. James Conves's regt.; return of men enlisted for 9 months from the time of their arrival at Fishkill; age, 17 yrs.; stature, 5 ft. 9 in.; complexion, light; reported belonged to 1st Hardwick co. and 2d co. in 4th Worcester Co. regt.; also, Capt. Paige's co., Col. John Rand's regt.; enlisted July 5, 1780; discharged Oct. 10, 1780; service, 3 mos. 15 days, at West Point; enlistment, 3 months."
