WATERLOO - Mathias Clement "Cap" Roberts, 85, of Coalinga, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died at home May 2 of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Sedalia, Mo., son of Frank and Adelaide Potter Roberts. He married Thelma Primrose on Dec. 3, 1933, in Waterloo.
Mr. Roberts was a retired minister.
Survived by: his wife; seven daughters, Virginia Sterns of Long Beach, Calif., Nancy Pederson of Jackson, Neb., Sheryl Roberts and Terissa McKinney, both of Coalinga, Judith Fairchild of Mountain Home, Ark., Jeannette Roberts of Downey, Calif., and Debra Evans of Glendora, Calif.; a son, Stanley of St. Paul, Minn.; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: two sons, Laurel and Phillip.
Graveside memorial services: 10 a.m. Friday at Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Services were May 8 at Pleasant Valley Christian Center, Coalinga.
