Dana Andrews Cunningham 1941 - 2011 Dana Andrews was born in Twin Falls, ID August 26, 1941, to Don and Emma Lou Andrews. She graduated from Valley High School and the University of Idaho where she edited the Territorial Centennial Yearbook in 1963. Dana was an Alpha Phi and graduated as one of the top 18 seniors. After graduation, she taught Spanish and French in California. She received a NDEA scholarship to study in France with Ohio State University. In 1965, she taught in Japan with the Department of Defense. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Captain Gary Cunningham, USMC. Gary joined Delta Airlines in 1970 and they moved to Argyle, TX where they lived for 27 years. She and Gary have three children, Case, Cord, and Cara. After they started school, she taught French and Spanish in the Denton ISD. From 1995-2001, she was a National Language Consultant for EMC Publishing. Dana, an elder at First Presbyterian Church, was the Chairman of Campus Ministry, and a lifelong member of Presbyterian Women. She was a charter member of the Arts Guild and a member of the Denton Ariel Club. In 1998, after Gary's retirement, they moved to Destin, FL. During this time- and throughout her life- Dana enjoyed spending time with the family at their cabin in Idaho. In 2005, they moved to Robson Ranch TX, just a few miles from their original Argyle home, to be near their daughter Cara. After a brave battle with melanoma, she is now at peace and eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Don Andrews of Las Vegas; husband, Gary of Denton TX; her three children and their families- Case, Krisanne, Cooper & Payson of Las Vegas; Cord, Cara, Cameron & Carsen Emma of Georgetown TX; and Cara, Chip & Chase Kugler of Dallas. A celebration of her life to be held at the family's home, June 26, with a memorial service to be held later this fall.
