Margaret R. Blokzyl, 86, of Hector, died Wednesday, December 18th at Buffalo Lake Health Care Center. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, December 23rd at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Margaret Ruth Blokzyl was born March 26, 1933, to Albert and Zena (Roelfsema) Hans in St. Johns Township. She grew up in the Raymond area where she attended District 100 South of Raymond before graduating from Willmar High School in 1951. On October 26, 1951, Margaret was united in marriage to Ardell Blokzyl at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Raymond. To this union four daughters were born: Bonnie, Brenda, Lori, and Melissa. They lived in Willmar, Marshall, Belton, TX, and eventually moved back to Hector. While living in Belton, Margaret worked at Bell County Court House where she worked as a custodian. Margaret enjoyed going to the casino, crocheting, embroidering and traveling back to Texas.
Margaret is survived by her children: Bonnie (Jimmy Montalbo) Beauchamp, Brenda Kay (Gary) Johnson, Lori (Todd)Como-Bulau, and Melissa Jean (Keith) Novotny; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell, parents, siblings: Alvin, Edwin, Pearl, Lucille, Alice and Mavis; and grandchildren: Baby Fred, Jeremy and Krista.
