Alvin Wade Gillespie

Alvin Wade Gillespie, 76, died Wednesday at Williamson Medical Center. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Allen Brown (Dot) Marlin of the Harpeth Community, Mrs. G.K. (Betty Sue) Hazelwood of the Scott Community, and Mrs. William (Brenda) Campbell of the Harpeth Community; a son, S.O. Gillespie of the Burwood Community; two sisters, Mrs. R.G. (Mary) Smith of the Caney Springs Community and Mrs. W.T. (Musie) Naive of Eddyville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 
Mr. Gillespie was a native of Williamson County, a retired farmer and a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Hoffman and Milton Lillard Officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. 
Grandsons served as active pallbearers. 
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Cooper, Fleming Marlin Sr., Lester Mosley, Nall Henslee, John D. Lillard, Bud Stephens, Harris Irvin, Dr. Joe Willoughby, Pat Fagan, Ross Crutcher, Wallace Edgemon, Leonard Edgemon and Arnold England. 
Williamson Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
