COTTONDALE Thomas Ray Reece, age 76, of Cottondale, died July 29, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Old Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Barger officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Reece and Nettie B. Hall Reece, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Herren Reece of Peterson; his sons Thomas Ray Reece,Jr. of Grayson, Ga. and Jason Reece (Michelle) of Northport, and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Katie and Sarah Reece.
Pallbearers will be Ken Herren, Raymond Hammonds, Sam Boswell, L.D. Barger, Wade West, and Larry Englebert.
Honorary pallbearers are the church family at Old Salem Baptist Church, Staff of Alacare Home Health, and Dr. Hardings office.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Old Salem Baptist Church Building Fund.
