Johnny Ray Kornegay, age 69, of Cottondale, Alabama, passed away at home on January 10, 2021. Johnny was a man of many talents. He could build or repair almost anything. If he didn't know how to do something, it wouldn't take him long to learn the skill. During his life, he worked at Gulf States Paper Mill and Drummond Coal Company. He opened his own business, Crimson Air, Inc., a successful heating and cooling company. Johnny enjoyed using his knowledge and skills to help others. He loved his family and friends immensely and was happiest when he used his tractor to help them. Even after a cancer diagnosis and a bone marrow transplant, he did everything he could to make life better for his family. Johnny will be greatly missed. Those who knew him consider themselves blessed and are thankful for the time we had with him. We know that he is rejoicing in Heaven with loved ones who were waiting for him to arrive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Inez Kornegay.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookwood, Alabama
