John Wesley Herrin, 86, died Saturday night at his home on U.S. Highway 11 about 12 miles east of Tuscaloosa.
Hr. Herrin made his home with his step-daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Frederick. He was a retired coal miner and had been an invalid a number of years.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Old Salem Church on the Wire Road near Cottondale with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Percy L. Herrin, Henry Howard Herrin, Floyd Herrin, Calvert Herrin, Coleman Kyzer and Tom Goins.
Mr. Herrin is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Willowdean Hill, Clay Herrin and Thomas Ray Herrin, all of West Frankfort, Ill.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Johnnie Frederick of Cottondale, Mrs Lucy Kilpatrick of Aldridge and Mrs. W.M. Lindstrom of Hueytown; five grandchildren, sis great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
