Ruth was widowed at the age of 36 when her husband Hal R. Cattley was killed in a car accident 9 Feb 1959 in Canby, Oregon and then left with the care of 3 daughters age 11-3. Her father Frank Dodge had died the day before on 8 Feb 1959 and her mother Belle S. (Hubbard) Dodge came to live with her and her daughters at this time. -Federal Postal Clerk at the Canby Post Office. -Owner: Giffords Floral Design School in Portland, Oregon for 25 years. -Bookkeeper for Sanders Mobile Truck Repair, Inc until she retired at age 75.
