-James C. Enos was born in Cayuga Co., N.Y. Dec. 10, 1833. He was of English descent and his family were among the pioneer farmers of Connecticut. When a child of two years, his parents moved to Tekonsha, Calhoun Co., Mich. Mr. Enos was married to Helen Hooper of Clyde, Wayne county, N.Y. in 1860?. In 1867 he purchased a farm in Fredonia township, which he owned until 1899, when he sold to Mr. Chrystal and built his late residence, corner of Mulberry and Prospect streets.
-Two years ago, Mr. Enos fell, sustaining an injury, which confined him mostly to the house, until the time of his death Sept. 22, 1910.
-Mr. and Mrs. Enos is survived by his wife, and four children, Z.H. Enos of Eckford, Mrs. F.W. Smith of Marshall, Mrs. I.J. Hughes of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Emma Hutchins of this city.
-He was also survived by ten grandchildren.
-The funeral service was conducted from his late residence, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24. Rev. L.N. DePuy of the First Baptist church of Marshall, officiating. Interment was at Oakridge cemetery.
