Hardy Smith last appears in household of his son A.W. (Anderson Wilkins) Smith, 36, on August 21, 1870 federal census Township 13, Ladiga p.o., Calhoun Co, Alabama, age 81, born abt 1789 North Carolina.

Arabella Smith married first to Billings Bridges on November 11, 1847 in Calhoun Co, Alabama. One child Bluford Butler Bridges born August 12, 1848. Billings Bridges died 1849, about 24 years of age.

Married second Littleberry Holcombe (1821-1890). One child Frances Ophelia "Frannie" Holcombe born June 17, 1866.

Arabella Smith Bridges Holcome died at her residence in Calhoun Co, Alabama on September 23, 1867; she was 38.

April 14, 1849. Notice to Arabella Bridges, Jesse M. Tatum, Joseph E. Philips & Jasper N. Hendrix that Bailus Bridges has made an application for probate of last will of Billings Bridges. Arabella Bridges, widow, to show cause why will should not be probate. Jess M. Tatum, Joseph E. Philips & Jasper N. Hendrix for purpose of establishing will.

May 15, 1849. Bailus Bridges and Wm L. Whitlock appointed executors of Will of Billings Bridges with Hardy Smith and Anthony G. Foster.

May 15, 1849. Thomas Roden, Enoch Benson and David Kent [also D.M. Kent] apptd. appraisers. Appraised May 26, 1849.

July 27, 1849. Sale of personal property. Buyers were: Bailus Bridges, Wm. Whitlock, J. B. Smith, Craven Wilson, Joseph Penny.

____ No date. Filed September 19, 1849. Petition of Bailus Bridges and William L. Whitlock, executors of the last will of Billings Bridges for order to sell real estate - 1/2 int in S1/2 of NE1/4 Sec9 T13 R 10 72 acres. Will has two divisees - Arabella Bridges the wife, now widow & under 21 & Bluford B. Bridges only son under 21.

October 22, 1849. Depositions of Craven Wilson & Jeremiah Langston re sale of real estate states Billings Bridges had one child, a boy, about one year old. Land jointly owned between Billings Bridges & his brother Bailus Bridges.

June 15, 1850. Hardy Smith, one of the securities on the bond of Bailus Bridges & Wm. L. Whitlock as executors of the Estate of Billings Bridges decd., has made application to be released from securityship. Bailus Bridges & Wm. L. Whitlock to appear to give new bond and security.

August 3, 1852. Cherokee Co., Ala. Littleberry Hallcomb apptd. Guardian of Blewford B. Bridges son and heir of Billings Bridges - bond with Solomon J. Geer.

October 29, 1852. Receipt from Littleberry Holcombe, Guardian for B.B. Bridges.
