Samuel C. Bullington

(24 Dec 1789 - 26 Dec 1853)

Samuel joined the New Prospect Baptist Church Nov 1823. He was ordained a Deacon August 1829 and granted a letter of dismissal by July 1844. He was reinstated August 1845 and in Jan. 1847 was removed from the church and was excommunicated.

June 1823 Samuel Bullington came forward and related a work of grace as we believe and was taken under the watch care of the Church and his wife also. In Nov 1823 Samuel Bullington and his wife Elizabeth were received by letter from Brother Robert Wall requesting to cite McClure James to attend our next meeting. April 1829 meeting chose Brother Samuel Bullington as Deacon. Charge was brought against Broth R. Bullinton Isam for steeling. Aug 1829 Sam set apart as Deacon. April 1835 S. Bullington to give satisfaction for the report of his drinking too much. Mar 1844 Sam expressed great dissatisfaction with the church for granting the motion to petition the Broad River Association for a letter of dismission to join the Tyger River Association. Aug 1844 Sam and wife withdrew from the church but said he had nothing against a single member of church. Chruch granted them letters of dismission which was received in the Tyger River Association. August 1845 committed sent to find out the purport of letter he sent. After apology Church restored him to full fellowship. 25 Nov 1846 Charge against Sam with swearing before Esqr. Chapman in a way well calculated to injure his standing as a member of the church.
