Mrs. Edith Rigdon, age 76, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She was born July 19, 1934 in Bruce, Florida to Rube and Martha Wright Hare. Mrs. Rigdon was a life long resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She worked as a cook at Sally's Seafood Restaurant for many years. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Rigdon is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John William "Bouie" Rigdon, one daughter Ella Mae Mady Cassidy, son-in-law Floyd Owens, one granddaughter Kristen Simmons. Mrs Rigdon is survived by her two sons Roy Rigdon of Red Bay, Florida and John Robert Rigdon and wife Mary Shayne of Ponce De Leon, Florida, three daughters Elouise Owens of Ponce De Leon, Florida, Exie Nowling and husband Donnie of Pensacola, Florida and Jo Weimorts and husband Randy of Red Bay, Florida; three brothers Don Earl Hare and wife JoAnn, Dan Hare and Andy Hare all of Bruce, Florida; one sister Carolyn Bishop of Bruce, Florida; six grandchildren Kenny Owens, Greg Owens, D.J. Nowling, Ashey Nowling, Joey Weimorts and John Rigdon and eight great grandchildren Kyle, Katie, Courtney, Dallas, Robert, Austin, Ned and Shelby. A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, December 10, 2010 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 11, 2010 Red Bay Baptist Church with Reverends Mike McVay and Rodney Infinger officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenny Owens, Greg Owens, Shane Hunter, John Rigdon, D.J. Nowling and Luther Simmons. Burial will follow in the Red Bay Cemetery.
