Farrell Sanford, 74, ofTylertown, died July 26, 2007, at his residence. Services were 11 a.m. today at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, with the Rev. Michael Knippers officiating. Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery. Mr. Sanford was born April 10, 1933, in Utica, to Reginald R. and Lula McDaniel Sanford. He was a contractor and maintenance supervisor for Hancock Properties. He was a member and former deacon of Union Baptist Church. He also was a member of the board of directors of Walthall Academy and served as president of the board. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Mr. Sanford was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, David Grubbs; three brothers, Norman, Burlon and Vernon Sanford; and a stepsister, Geneva Fairburn. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Elvis Breeland Sanford; a son, Bruce Sanford of Tylertown; two grandchildren, Jessica Sanford and Donovon Grubbs, both of Tylertown; and a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Glynn McKenzie of McComb. Pallbearers were Dubs Mounger, Roger Magee, Jimmy May, Jerry Alford, Tommy McKenzie and Richard Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers were Tim May, J.L. Craft and Travis Alford.
