Halberta Hoover "Tee" Hiner

Mrs. Halberta Hiner "Tee" Franks, 83, of Newnan died May 23, 1999 at her home.
Born in Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Franks worked at the Arizona Republic until she married Hobart Franks, an advertising executive with the Republic and Gazette who died in 1983. She later wrote a newspaper column for five years.
In 1957, Mrs. Franks moved to Atlanta. She volunteered with the Phoenix Symphony and the Atlanta Arts Festival.
A graduate of Phoenix Union High School, Mrs. Franks attended Phoenix Junior College. She moved to Newnan in 1998.
A memorial service was held May 25 at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City. Memorial contributions can be made to the Atlanta Steinway Society or the Newnan-Coweta Public Library.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Franks Berta of Newnan; son, Lawrence Franks of Alexandria, Va.; and two grandsons.
