Imogene Kinney Baker, 85, was born November 5, 1928 in Hermleigh, TX and passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, in Baytown home.
Mrs. Baker was devoted to her church and friends. Imogene was a prayer warrior and a prayer line member. She loved to cook and bake and she had a passion for watching her kids fight over who got the largest portion of her fudge. Her last six years were spent in Baytown, TX, where she lived with Ron and Jean and her favorite ""person"", Sara, a two-and-a-half pound Chihuahua. Sara made every step Imogene did-every step, even to bed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Kinney and Lano Cason; husband, John W. Baker; brothers and sister-in-law, Bobby Glen Kinney and Billy Edwin and Jewel Kinney; and granddaughter, Cassandra Jean Nichols.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carol and Peyton Middleton of Conroe, Ronald W. and Jean Moser of Baytown, Linda and Randy Nichols of Brazoria, and Lonnie Apelt of Surfside; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas W. and Rene DeHart of Hoenwald, TN; grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca Lynn and Robert Woods of Willis, Laura and Carlos Porras of Kyle, David and Amy Moser of Baytown, and Amanda and Ryan Hamilton and Andrea and Robert Watson, all of Brazoria; ten great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at Bedias Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, TX on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Mintor of Calvary Baptist Church in Coldspring officiating. Mrs. Baker was a faithful member and supporter of the church for many years.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Moser, David Moser, Carlos Porras, Cory Lilley, Charles Kinney, and Bill Kinney, Jr.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 65 Petroleum, Coldspring, TX 77331.
