Edna Earle Samford, 92, of Atlanta, peacefully passed away February 6, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Samford is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Dudley B. Samford; and her loving children and their spouses including daughter, Carolyn Samford Sanders; sons, Dudley B. Samford, Jr. (Lucille), and Preston E. Samford (Donna). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Samford (Debbie) and sister Imogene Nimorowski. Mrs. Samford was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in the construction industry by doing the bookkeeping and other office duties. She was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church for many years where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching children in Sunday School. She was also an amazing artist and loved to dance and perform in local theatre productions. She enjoyed travelling the world with her husband and family and collecting reminders of all the places they would visit. She was loved by all she came in contact with and often remembered for her generous spirit and sweet smile. Most importantly she will be remembered for her love for Jesus, her Lord and Savior, in Whose Arms she will forever be. The family is most grateful for the lovingly care she received by family friend Alberta Burney for the last seven years and by the wonderful people of Interim HealthCare for the last year. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Interim HealthCare of Atlanta Home Care and Hospice, 6000 Lake Forrest Drive, Suite 500, Atlanta, GA 30328, (404) 856-6110. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Patterson's Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Grandsons, great grandson and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at H. M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
